Our Story

Essential Prints was set up in 2020 by James Healy, a talented graphic designer who had a keen eye for detail and a real passion for clean, upscale digital design.

At the age of 19, James enrolled in a four-year long degree apprenticeship course in digital technology solutions. Feeling the pressure from balancing his increasingly demanding workload and busy study schedule, James began to look for creative ways to keep himself motivated.

As someone who has a successful background in graphic design, James began to develop his own digital artwork by combining powerful motivational wording with an ultra-modern and minimalistic aesthetic.

James created this artwork to frame and hang above the desk in his bedroom. Its purpose was to serve as a constant source of inspiration, motivation and encouragement while he worked.

During this time, James noticed that the vast majority of large poster and print retailers were selling products with the exact same quotes and almost identical designs. Quotes such as ‘live, laugh, love’ and ‘enjoy the little things’ seemed to crop up everywhere he looked. James wanted a something better. Something that he found real meaning in. Something that suited him and would look great in his bedroom, and he knew that there were others out there who felt the same.

James always believed that to be happy in life, you should surround yourself with anything that brings you confidence and positivity. For James, the prints that he designed did exactly that.
